Sex Education for Teens Against Abstinence Only

Take ParentJuice: There are different viewpoints on sex education for adolescents in schools. Despite abstinence as the only curriculum of the government, there is a movement against it. Consequently, some schools only teach abstinence, some schools provide sex education. And some schools teach something in between.
For decades, the religious right has tried to influence legislation in the sense of "family values". The Law of the family life of teenagers, the Congress adopted in 1981, has greatly influenced the type of sex education for young people. How much money is spent in an effort to keep children in the United States for information on sensitive subjects like homosexuality, masturbation, contraception and abortion. Currently, Bush administration requested $ 242 million in funds that would apply to abstinence only education in 2008.
The Family Planning, which role in the sexual education of adolescents has been controversial, argues that lack of access to contraception and sexual health services damage the future of youth. However, the religious right considers sexual material of any kind should be kept out of classrooms and health agencies.
One thing that never disappears, and sex. Ultimately up to parents to decide what form of protection that they find most useful. Want to protect their children from information itself or the effects of sexual behavior?
